Sports Field Marking

Brand and Crest Design for Sports Clubs, Academies and Fitness Brands

A badge, a logo or a gym brand is something people wear with pride, defend in arguments, and judge instantly. We design sport and fitness identities built to earn that loyalty, not just look good on a mood board.

First impression matters

Sport is emotional in a way most industries are not. A crest is not just a mark, it is something fans tattoo on their arm and argue about in the pub. A gym logo is not just branding, it is what someone sees every time they push themselves through a session. Get it wrong, and people notice immediately, and say so loudly.

That makes sport and fitness branding a genuinely different challenge. It has to respect where a club, academy or brand has come from, while still working at the sizes and speeds modern sport actually demands, a tiny app icon, a broadcast graphic, a kit badge, a social avatar.

Onetouch Design Studios crafts identities for football, rugby and cricket clubs, sports academies, gyms, fitness studios and sports brands who need their mark to hold up under exactly that kind of scrutiny.

What you get when you choose us

  • An identity built to survive genuine fan or member scrutiny, not just look good in a presentation

  • A crest, logo or brand mark that stays legible at broadcast size, kit size and app icon size

  • Consistency across kit, signage, membership materials, sponsorship decks and social content

  • Design that respects heritage where it exists, without being trapped by it

  • One designer across the whole brief, so nothing gets diluted between kit supplier, printer and web developer

  • Every file delivered in the format your kit manufacturer, sign writer or web team actually needs

  • A Brand Guidelines document so consistency holds whether it is a first team badge or a grassroots academy shirt

Our Process

  1. Getting the brief right

You reach out through the form below or by email, and we book a free consultation call within one to two business days. This is where we get into what actually matters, your history, your fans or members, your competitors, and where the current identity is holding you back rather than helping you.

  2. Discovery Call
From that conversation, we develop a creative direction and present it as mood boards, so you are choosing a direction before any detailed design work begins, not reacting to a finished logo out of nowhere.

  3. Building the Identity
Once a direction is approved, we design the crest or logo, colour system, typography and the wider visual language that will need to carry across kit, signage and digital.

  4. Presentation & Feedback
We present concepts on real applications, kit mockups, matchday signage, app icons, so any decision is made looking at how the identity will actually be seen, not just as artwork on a page.

  5. Delivery & Sign-Off
Once you approve the final direction, everything is finalized and handed over, every file, every format, along with your Brand Guidelines document to keep things consistent going forward.

Expected Timescales

Most sport and fitness branding projects run four to eight weeks from your first call to final delivery, depending on scope.

A logo or crest refresh on its own typically takes around four to five weeks. A full identity including brand guidelines and initial applications usually runs six to seven weeks. A complete rebrand covering kit, signage, matchday materials and sponsorship assets tends to take the full seven to eight weeks.

If you are working toward a season launch, pre season window or sponsorship deadline, let us know at the enquiry stage, we build the schedule around that date wherever possible.

A Concept Worth Sharing: Luton Town FC

We used Luton Town FC's crest as a real world case study* to explore a question every heritage sports brand eventually faces: how do you modernize a badge that carries over a century of history without losing what makes it recognizable

We developed two directions. One kept the familiar shield shape and cleaned up the internal detail so it holds together at small sizes without losing any of the history. The other combined two separate symbols into one distinctive mark inside a circular badge, a bigger change, but a more ownable and memorable piece of branding. We think it is a useful example of how we approach heritage identity work generally, balancing respect for history against what a badge actually needs to do in 2026.

*Self initiated project, not commissioned work for the club.

FAQs

Do you design crests and badges as well as logos? Yes, crest and badge design is a specific skill within branding, balancing heritage, symbolism and legibility at small sizes, and it is a core part of our sport industry work.

We are worried about fan reaction to a rebrand, how do you handle that? We treat heritage as a design constraint, not an obstacle. Every direction we present is built to respect what already exists, so a rebrand feels like an evolution fans can get behind rather than something imposed on them.

Do you only work with clubs and gyms near Luton? No. We are based in Luton and work with sports and fitness businesses across Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire in person, and remotely with clients across the rest of the UK.

Can you design branding for a gym or fitness studio, not just a club? Yes, gyms, fitness studios and personal training brands follow a very similar process to clubs, with the same emphasis on an identity that holds up across kit, signage, social and membership materials.

How much does branding for a club or academy cost? It depends on scope, a crest refresh is priced differently to a full identity covering kit, signage and sponsorship materials. Get in touch for a quote based on what you actually need.

Can you help us pitch sponsors as part of this? Yes, we design sponsorship decks and partner branding templates as part of many sport industry projects, built to make sponsorship conversations easier.

We have a season deadline, can you work to that? Yes, let us know your deadline at the enquiry stage. Most projects run four to eight weeks, and we build the schedule around key dates like a season launch wherever we can.

Our current badge is not broken, just tired, is a full rebrand overkill? Not necessarily. A refresh, cleaning up detail, updating typography or simplifying for small sizes, is a valid project on its own and usually quicker than starting again.
